Abstract
Kimbanguism, named for its founder, Simon Kimbangu, began in the 1920s as a prophetic movement that rallied people against European culture and Christian missions. Kimbangu's following was large enough to serve as a threat to the Belgian rulers who arrested him and charged him with treason.. He died in the 1950s. |
