Abstract
Convulsion, measles, meningitis and jaundice are predominantly causes of disabilities related with child language disorders in patients at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Kumasi, Ghana. The other notable factors are fever, head injury, Down's syndrome, marasmus, Caesarean operation, prematurity, hypoxia and prolonged delivery. These and other less significant factorsresulted in apasia (46.2%),hearing impairment (46%), mental retardation (4.6%) and cerebral palsy (3%). |
