Abstract
The theoretical approach of the "Angola in movement" project relates to the ongoing debate on informal dynamics in the globalised society and their relationship to the social capital inside networks of people in movement. The analysis is grounded in the mobility patterns of people and goods in Angola across trans-border and transnational trade routes in the Angolan regions of Namibe, Cunene, route Luanda - Benguela - Huambo, and Lisbon as the host Diaspora "region". Data has been collected through a questionnaire on social capital and network characteristics structuring the movement of people and goods. The project is still in progress with the next step the comparative analysis of theoretical topics emerging from analysis of the collected regional data. The aim of this presentation is to discuss the topics around the construction of informality as illegality emerging in one of the fields - Portugal - within the context of the Angolan diaspora - as an operative concept for the understanding of the conditions determining the social integration of young people in the labour market. |
