Abstract
This research report analyses some of the key decisions made by the Botswana Government; in the health, education and tourism sectors, which are driving the nation's development. The report acknowledges that the diamond industry has been the main contributor to Botswana's economic growth. However, it aims to go further to argue that, due to a number of key policies and good governance, Botswana continues to experience sustainable growth and avoid the 'resource curse'. Since independence, Botswana's leaders have taken the diamond revenue and invested it back into the development of the country and its people. This investment is the source of the country's consistent development. The report will examine the impact of diamond revenue and Botswana's good economic management. Following on from this it will analyse the key policies that have been implemented in education, health, and tourism sectors, which are driving the countries development. |
