Abstract I 2007 afholdt Kenya præsidentvalg imellem to konkurrerende kandidater Mwai Kibaki og Raila Odinga. Kibaki anførte partiet Party of National Unity (PNU), og Odinga anførte partiet Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). Valget endte med at udvikle sig til en voldelig og blodig konflikt med over 1000 dræbt og 500.000 huse var brændt ned på to måneder.<br/><br/>Der bliver i projektet set på hvordan etnicitet og kolonialisme har indflydelse på konflikten i problemstillingerne. Forholdene vil blive belyst ud fra dokumenter der er underlagt dokumentanalyse og for at supplere det er der brugt interviews og tabeller. Der bruges den filosofiske hermeneutik i projektet, fordi den er velegnet til at supplere analyserne og dokumentanalyse. For at give en bedre besvarelse af problemstillingerne, gives der en kort indblik i Kenya. Til sidst besvares problemstillingerne og udvides med analyse og diskussion og forklares ud fra de to teorier klassisk realisme. De forskellige begreber der oftest optræder bliver gennemgået i et begrebsafsnit. Til sidt opsumeres det hele i konklusionen og der ses kort på processen. - In 2007 the election of a president it's escaleted to a violent and blody conflict with over a thousand dead and 500.000 houses burned to the ground. It was Mwai Kibaki and Raila Odinga. Kibaki was leading the party Party of National Unity (PNU), and Odinga was leading the party Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).<br/><br/>The focus in the project will be ethnicity and colonialism who will be loked at in the sub problems. It will bee inlighted throug documentanalyses who will be crosede with cases of interviews and tables. To secure a overwiev there is given a brif introduction to Kenya. All the emperich will be loocked at and analysed and discused and then summed up in the conclusion. At the end there is loocked breifly in to the process.
