Abstract No presente trabalho abordamos a situação sociocultural e eclesial da mulher em Moçambique. À luz dessa discussão, a principal inquietação que nos acompanhou ao longo do estudo e reflexão, foi a tentativa de encontrar o lugar justo que ela ocupa, na família, sociedade e na comunidade cristã. As mulheres são duplamente oprimidas pela tradição cultural e pela sociedade. Contudo, acreditamos na sua dignidade e capacidade de transformar a vida familiar, consequentemente, a sociedade, com a sua coragem e determinação. Pois acreditam em si e na sua força interior, quando muitas vezes assumem o papel de serem «chefes de família», colocando-a sempre em primeiro lugar. A mulher é mãe e geradora de vida, independentemente da sua condição social, cultural ou religiosa, junto daqueles que necessitam do seu calor materno. Nós, as Irmãs Missionárias Dominicanas do Rosário, pretendemos contribuir para a identificação do lugar e missão da mulher, na consciencialização da sociedade e na sua promoção integral, nos diversos setores sociais, apostando e promovendo a igualdade de oportunidades entre homens e mulheres. Para Deus, todos temos valor, pois em cada ser, há maravilhas e sinais do criador. Quando as mulheres se dedicam em diversos ministérios eclesiais, vivendo o serviço desinteressado em favor dos outros, manifestando assim o mandamento do amor, captam a presença de Deus, nas pequenas coisas e serviços comunitários. A ação pastoral das Missionárias Dominicanas, tem como objetivo não só a evangelização, como também a promoção integral da mulher moçambicana. - In this paper, we address the socio-cultural and ecclesial situation of women in Mozambique. Considering this discussion, the main concern that accompanied us throughout the study and reflection was the attempt to find the right place for women in the family, society and in the Christian community. Women are doubly oppressed by cultural tradition and society. However, we believe in their dignity and ability to transform family life, and consequently, society with their courage and determination. For they believe in themselves and in their inner strength, when they often assume the role of being «heads of the family», always placing it first. Women are mothers and generators of life, regardless of their social, cultural, or religious condition, alongside those who need their maternal warmth. We, the Dominican Missionary Sisters of the Rosary, intend to contribute to the identification of women's role and mission of women, in the awareness of society and in their integral promotion, in the different social sectors, by investing in and promoting equal opportunities between men and women. For God we all have value, for in every being there are wonders and signs of the Creator. When women dedicate themselves to various ecclesial ministries, living selfless service on behalf of others, thus manifesting the commandment of love, they grasp the presence of God in small things and community services. The pastoral action of the Dominican Missionaries is aimed not only at evangelization but also at the integral promotion of Mozambican women.
