Abstract
During this interview, Lessick-Xiao and Marion discuss their time serving under the Peace Corps. Lessick-Xiao served in Zaire while Marion served in Guatemala. It will help determine which audio file(s) to download & listen to. - Lessick-Xiao recounts her time in Zaire which is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Marion recounts his time in Guatemala. Marion lived and worked in Guatemala from 1969-1974 in order to avoid the draft. LX wanted to serve in the Peace Corps in a Spanish speaking country but was sent to Zaire instead. She served in that country from 1978-1980 where she taught english and art. |
