Abstract
The main theme of my thesis is the exhibition Pulsations: from rhythms to gestures by the artist Francisco Vidal, its process, dynamics, and how this exhibition could be reinvented in the space, taking into account the internship done at the contemporary art gallery THIS IS NOT A WHITE CUBE. In this paper I begin by addressing the THIS IS NOT A WHITE CUBE gallery in its context, especially in the artistic sphere of contemporary African art. In its space, for having two bases, Luanda and Lisbon, and also for its proportion and what it allows. The functioning of the gallery in perspective to other galleries and the advantages that come with this process. Next, I briefly discuss the internship carried out between September and November 2022, the learning acquired, the tasks developed and their importance in my artistic and professional development. From this, I address issues related to curatorship, which I found necessary for the effectiveness of the thesis and the project, such as curatorship in galleries and art fairs, as well as installation, immersive and itinerant exhibitions, and the relationship with the viewer or buyer. Always taking into account the gallery aspect, present in this context. The exhibition project of Francisco Vidal's exhibition aims to make an approach and comparison to the project conceived in the gallery, and to what would be conceived by me, in terms of selected exhibition paths and assembly in space, this being the project's final phase |
